VIVACE!!!! NEW SMU BUILDING!!!!!
Realise I haven been writing my blog for a FREAKING LONG TIME. Busy la my dear frens....:) Forgive me for not updating u guys on my erm..exciting life?
Ok, to be honest, my life is about as exciting as watching a pot of water boil. It's totally BORING! Mayb coz i been having holidays for WAY WAY TOO LONG! My brain is half dead! The nerves r not working anymore~! I m so screwed when sch starts.
Oh anywayz, I'm supposed to tok bout VIVACE and the new SMU building. Bit if digressing up there :D Today is the official day that SMU aka Singapore Management University bids a sorrowful(?) farewell to the old bukit timah campus where SMU grow from the youngest university in Singapore to one that is so sought-after by scholars of local schools and overseas as well. Note people, i mere 5 years ok? WE are finally moving to the CITY!!!!!!
But honestly, I hate leaving the Bukit Timah Campus. First of all, it has a rich historical background behind it. From University of Malaya to University of Singapore to National Institute of Education and to Singapore Management University, this campus has witnessed the birth and growth of many outstanding professionals and political leaders of today.A total of 75 years and 3 generations of students. Lee Kuan Yew has been there, many of our professors were from there. Even my parents were alumi of University of Singapore! Just the history alone, I already feel that pinch on me when i decided to visit the old campus again last nite. Those corridors where u meet ur frens like a gazillion times in a day (coz tt campus is juz so SMALL...), those study benches where we had our proj meetings, our beloved library where we slogged our guts out for exams.....haiz...
The new campus, is really nice. State of the art design, vv vv beautiful i would say. But it lacked tt homely feel. The schools r pretty far apart. No more "Hey we meet at biz block at 12.45 ok?"..no more...the schools r too far apart to do tt.. It's too professional a design to feel like a school..no sch feelings..or mayb coz SMU spirit hasn't been injected :D
OK..I am kinda tired now that i dunno wat i m typing...time to orh......orh orh time!
