Always nice to hear encouragement, even if it's from a stranger
I stepped out of Econ block only to find it was drizzling outside. Heck. Just walk to PS first and get my lunch.
I tink I look pretty cold so at the junction between Citibank and HSBC, someone offered to shelter me across. A worker from Citibank.
CB guy: "Erm, u from SMU?"
Me: "Yeah"
CB guy: "How's school?"
Me: *look really stressed up* "Oh, SO STRESSED UP"
He look at me, i look at him and we both burst into luffters.
Me: "Kidding. School's been fun. Really."
CB guy: "Hahha..how's the school coping wif the freshmen?"
Me: "I guess we r really overstretched. I feel that every sem we r really stretching our professors and resources. Classes are getting bigger for the yr 1s. Trade off for having a lower prof-student ratio in comparison to the other 2 unis i guess."
CB guy: "There's a new law school coming up ya?"
Me: "Ya. 2007 will witness the 1st intake. I guess school fees will just keep going up."
CB guy: "Not very fair for current students isn't it? Having to pay for incoming students"
Me: "Ya. But the current batch are protected from fee hike. We did have one last year. We made a lot of noise over that. After that incident, we were kind of exempted from fee hikes. hahaha"
CB guy: "Tat's good. Anyway, where are u going? train station?"
Me: "Nah, going to PS."
CB guy: " which year r u in?"
Me: "3rd year. Kinda old..haha"
CB guy: "haha..last semester?"
Me: "nope. I will be doing 4 yrs."
CB guy: "Study hard ok?"
Me: "Yep! I will try REALLY hard on tt..Now there's other non-academic stuff to handle..nonetheless, i will work hard..hahaha..thanks for sheltering me."
CB guy: "no prob, see you ard."
And so we parted outside Starbucks. I guess he's heading for lunch. Nice to hear pple telling u to study hard. Yeap I will. I dun sound vv serious. But i will..buahahaha
