Movie: Death Note
For those who dunno the story..k..lemme do a brief run thru.
The Death Note is a notebook held by the Shinigami (God of Death). Basically Shinigamis have the ability to see how long a person can live and the name of the person just by looking at one in his eyes. If he sees that ur time is up soon, he will write ur name in the notebook (wif ur face in mind so pple wif the same name as u wont die as well), and u will die within 40 seconds. If the purpose of death is not specified, the person dies of heart attack. If u want the person to die a specific way, u hafta write the death in details within 6 min and 48 seconds after writting down the name and cause of death.
The guy above in black is Yagami Raito (Light). He's a law undergrad wif a sharp mind and damn high IQ who holds big dreams in changing the world after graduation. However, after hacking into the Police's HQ's criminal records and realising a lot of criminals were released w/o charges, he lost faith and direction in life. He noes he can nv use law to do justice. And the nite he lost faith, was the nite he picked up the Death Note in a back alley. Apparently a Shinigami dropped it (wat a stupid shinigami i would say..hahah), and the shinigami allowed Light to use the notebook..coz he say "Finders Keepers". Bah.
This is the 1st page of the notebook..it actually has instructions..hahaha..in English sia...
These were the basic rules for the use of Death Note.
Light din exactly believe it when he was flipping thru the notebook. While he was flipping thru, there was news flash of the a robbery wif the robber's name and foto displayed on TV. Outta i tink the fun of it la, Light wrote the guy's name in the book, close it and went to bed. The next morning he woke up and the headlines was : Robber died mysteriously in cell.
So he started wiping out criminals, greedy politicians from all over the world blah blah. He begin to feel tt he holds the key to justice. Police started investigation to no avail. Their only way was to engage the help of another genius. A teenage by the nickname of "L"
"L" is the guy in white. He din exactly show his face during the 1st half of the show. The only way the police could communicate wif him was thru tis laptop brought by L's hsekeeper. Even when communicating wif the police thru the laptop, he din show his face, nor did he use real voice. So during tt part, u would haf tot "L" is like a damn cool super high IQ teen coz he managed to find out a lot of things despite everything being so vague and stuff.
And then when the police and the 12 FBIs involved died consequently becoz Light wanted to protect himself, officers from the team started to quit for the fear of their lives. No one wanted to investigate anymore. (By the way did I mention the head of the investigation team is Light's father?) By the middle of the show, only 6 remain on the team. To convince them tt he is trustable, L decided to reveal his true colours.....
The moment he appeared...the whole cinema was luffing like crazy..he has hay for hair, look like he hasn't bathe for bout 2 yrs and dark rings tt could put the boy in "The Grudge" to shame..hahaha..But he's damn intelligent as well. Apparently this boy hardly slps, he always analysing smth, studying some figures. And he's always eating. Bah.
For the details of wat kinda intelligent things went on between these 2 geniuses, go watch it urself laz! hahahaa..dowan to spoil the fun..hehehe..
No wonder the poster has "Battle of the Wits" written on it.
