Should have committed a crime before my surgery

Today marks the beginning of Week 13 of this semester. Argh. 13 13 13..it's not a good number so it's not a good week. Ha.

Ok I am tired of changing the Java scripts for the blog entries everytime I have the urge to post something. SO, I am going to leave it in its natural form despite the fact that I really hate the default font. Buaha

Went for TPJC Band Alumni Concert last Saturday. Because of project meetings and a whole truckload of work (ok, make that 5 truckloads), I decided to only to go for the second half of the concert. Met up with Wendy and Weiqi for PastaMania at around 8pm and I finished my dinner by 8.10pm. Hahaha..Wendy said the operation was a good choice then since I can eat so fast now. Hahha..no. Coz baked rice din require a lot of work to chew ma. U try putting a plate of steak in front of me, I swear I can take 20 yrs to finish that. Or I might even give up eating it. Buaha

Concert was good although it was pretty short with only 7 songs and I only heard 3.My favourite was of coz Lion King. Played that in JC2 for concert too. Brought back too many memories of us struggling to juggle JC's crazy curriculum and practicing for concerts and SYF. I sat down at the stage, saw familiar faces on the stage playing away (since it was alumni, of coz it comprises of familiar faces. Come to tink of it, I graduated from JC in 2003. Talk about old. Argh), i had a strange feeling inside me. I dunno, can't explain. But it sure was a feeling I miss having since I finished JC. The big family feel of everyone struggling to put together a piece, going thru a piece of music over and over again. It's a kinda of bond other CCAs back then won't be able to provide. Coz it's the only CCA that NEEDS every single of its 80+ band members. No one is redundant, and everyone is important. Even if u only have one note to play, you are still equally important.

I went into the auditorium during interval and man it was damn fun. Coz no one recognized me.

Seriously, no one.

I went up the stairs with Wendy and Weiqi, meeting Shiyuan midway since he is the one saving seats for us. He chatted away with Wendy almost straight away.

Me:" Hi Shiyuan"

Shiyuan:" Who are u?"

Me:"-_____-"

Hahahah..i din blame him. I admit I do look a different now but I am still swollen ma...can't blame me.

Me:"YuHui la!"

Shiyuan:" Oh my god! you look so different. I'm so sorry..sorry sorry.."

Hahha..it's ok la :) Really. Hahaha..

Most of the alumni who came for the concert (Mostly my batch), were like "Hey u look a bit different, what happened?"...I tink I explained the surgery bout 20 times that night to different groups of people. Hahaha..

No one's reaction can be compared to Tng man.

Tng was talking to Ivan about something.

Me:"Hi Tng!"

Tng (looking up slightly):" oh hi!" (look back down at something ivan was holding and then look up again.

According to Tng, he looked back at me and asked himself in mind:"who is this?" and then he started to scan my face for a sign of familiarity.

Ivan:"U cannot rem her?"

Me:"YuHui la!"

Tng:" OMG! What happened to you? You look different! eh damn scary leh!"

And then it became a little crowd ard me with Ivan, Chengxi, Houyuan and Tng asking me what happened..hahaha...

Tng:"I am the king of surgery, tell me what u did man."

Me:"oh, they cut up the top of my gums, scrap down the gums to reveal the bones and then they chiseled it..."

Tng (leaning onto Ivan):"oh man..sounds bad and very painful.."

Oh well. I was pretty shocked myself over the procedures too.

It's fun not to have people recognize you, seriously.

Tng:"Eh who haven see u yet? very fun leh!"

it is indeed very fun :)

Should have committed a crime before my surgery. And I surely can get away with it now. And now, I hafta change my picture on my passport. or else I can't fly to Beijing this summer. Hahah.
