The new job

So I bid farewell to my previous firm on Monday and started my new role with the next on Wednesday.

Hardly a break I say!

My job role with the new co sure started off with a bang. I was briefed of all the ongoing (translate "live" deals) projects and there are about 12 going on. I was then assigned to start writing investment memorandums about markets and asset classes I'm completely unfamiliar with.

Within 3 days, inbetween covering 2 markets for the investment writeups, I came up with my own financial model for commercial real estate.

ZOMG I already feel like I have a year's worth of knowledge crammed into my head during these 3 days. By Monday I will have to hand up a full blown Investment Paper for another market and another asset class, plus 3 more financial models. Which my boss says I have to do it like I've done it many times before.

All in all, a great experience so far. My boss is extremely patient - although he will be going on a one month leave starting next Wednesday to put his health back on track. I will be reporting to 2 other directors till July.

Busy times ahead!

And definitely no more time for CFA...
