Asked my mum what the siren was about. She said, 66 years ago, Japan invaded Singapore on this very day.
Right during Chinese New Year.
Oh yea, I remembered how sweet they were to invade us during our joyous occasion.
May those who have been killed or sacrificed during the 3 years and 8 months of occupation, rest in peace.
