Shanghai Trip (Nov 2015) - Day 3

Oh god is anyone still even following this whole boring travelogue of mine? Hahaha. You can view the earlier days via the links below:

The boy decided to take me out for hairy crabs on my 3rd day there. Hairy crabs are in season during the September to November months, and of course they are cheaper to eat in China than say back in our own country.

It was another day of lazing in bed till we were ready to leave so by the time we reach the restaurant (王宝和 - this is an old brand name in Shanghai. They have been around since the Qing dynasties), they have already closed for lunch service! Yikes.

Since we were so convinced that we could get our hairy crabs, we didn't have Plan B in mind. What did we end up eating?

KFC

No kidding.

As the restaurant will only re-open for business during dinner time, we decided to explore the surrounding area to burn some time. There wasn't much in the area except for dainty cafes and also little book stores.

It got extremely dark by the time we left 上海书城 - it was actually only 4.30pm!

We hung around some cafe for another 30 minutes before heading back to 王宝和 restaurant.

I think the KFC meal was too filling - so we weren't actually hungry even by dinner time. So we didn't eat the hairy crabs which we set out to eat :(

The food was okay - but I guess the real attraction were their hairy crabs which EVERY table besides us ordered. Oh well!

It was not an extremely cold night (around 14 degrees) so we decided we should have a nice stroll along the Bund area.

Mid way through the walk it started pouring and became a lot colder. We quickly took shelter at a Starbucks outlet nearby.

Nothing like Starbucks Christmas (warm) drinks with your favourite person on a rainy and cold evening in Shanghai! :)

We were getting comfortable in the toasty cafe before we realized it was pretty late. We decided to head home just as the rain was getting smaller. Proved to be a good move because it started pouring again when we were nearing the train station.

There goes Day 3!
