Flu-ish. So irritating
I am so sian. School is starting. Seriously, I dread it. Another round of 15-weeks mind and health tormenting school term. And after next sem, I will b moving to 3rd yr! How scary. Everyone is like dying to graduate...i dun feel like graduating at all leh...I wanna study and study and study....but I noe tt's not possible..coz Ihave to work and pay back my tuition loan and support my parents for their efforts in bringing me up these yrs.
I wanna go on exchange so much, to experience other cultures and traditions. But I got no $$$..haha.. I am an Asian and I am extremely proud to be an Asian. To me, Asia is cauldron of exciting cultures, exotic beliefs, unbelievable traditions.
My dream place for exchange would be China, Tokyo or Seoul. These are pretty big economies in Asia and it would be cool to be able to experience their way of life as one of them, not just a tourist. I was tinking, if I can't go on exchange, I can probably take up a foreign language during holidays. It's much cheaper and I get to learn their language in comparison to going on an exchange. Chinese, no need to learn la. I'm a pretty pro person in Chinese. hahahahaha (a bit bhb, but ask all those who taught me chinese. They say I am gifted in this language ok.) But I continue to improve on my already pro chinese. The realm of learning has no ends :)
I would love to study Korean though. Coz Japanese language, ok..at least I can speak basic..ok..make it EXTREMELY basic..hhahaha..and it's common! Anah Ta-No O-Ko Sa-Nah Be-Nas Ka? U all shld noe rite?! tt's damn basic. So I might wanna learn Korean instead, to make up my lack of chance for an exchange trip :) PS: I heard DBS Bank is planning to venture into Korea :) I have one degree less compared to many of my Double Degree peers in SMU, but at least, I might have one more language above the regular 2-language Singaporean (make it 1.5-language Singaporean. S'poreans chinese..really CMI...our impression of bilingual is probably having sufficient ability to order a chicken rice in chinese.
My mum was saying I shld haf chosen to study Chinese in NTU under my Professor uncle in the 1st place instead of studying Economics in SMU. Becoz Chinese is my natural gift. I read Hong Lou Meng when I was 6. Studied Man Jiang Hong when I was 7 (When the so-called Higher Chinese students study it in Sec 3) I was tempted to study Chinese when I was choosing what course to study. Becoz I noe I will haf a relatively easier time. But I did not go for it. In comparison, Economics is a more specialised degree. Chinese is something, I dunno, not very specialised. I hold a Economics degree, I might be able to do what a Chinese degree can do. But a Chinese Degree student might not be able to do what an Economics degree can do. I wanted to study Chinese. But my cousins, who were already working then, told me, Economics would be a practical choice. And since I dun hate Economics, and I love maths, I shld go on and tk it.
Sometimes when I have a hell of a time studying in SMU, i do regret my choice. Not the sch of choice! SMU is a brilliant school. If only they offer a Double Degree in Chinese...manz.... I would love to go for it manz..
Chinese is a gift from Heaven to me. I never have problems with that language since....the day I was born? ahahhaa..my father used to teach my Tang poems when I was 3-4 and always use me to impress my relatives during special occasions. Hahahaa..coz I have the brain capacity to remember practically the whole bookcase of books. Every single line, every single word. But I guess my brain din work vv well for English. Hahaha...I used to get the kick out of defeating china kids back in primary school. Hahaha...I was EM2 coz my English and Science din't make it back then..hahaha..but I was given priority to study Higher Chinese in school but I wasn't allowed to take it in PSLE coz I'm not on the MOE list for HIgher Chinese. But I always topped the level. My score was never..lower than 92. Cool eh? My parents did plead with the school, even chinese teachers who do not know me, recommend me to 'upgrade' to EM1. But coz my Science and English wasn't as fantastic, I was not given that chance.
SO much for the 'ying cai shi jiao' education system of Singapore..hahahaha..
God, I just wrote such a long entry..and basically an entry with not much content..hahaha...paiseh ah frens!
