Finally

It's over. I rejected the offer this morning. I was plain uncomfortable with the terms I guess.

If you think I was being choosey, you haven't been participating in my agonizing thought process these few weeks. Haha. I've discussed with family, cousins, professors, friends as well. And the reaction I get the most is it's risky to get bonded especially when they did not give you anything in the first place.
'Don't sign anything that made you uncomfortable right from the start. Always go with your gut feel.'
'I would advise you to go with your gut feel. If you feel bad about it before you take up the offer, it is not a good sign. Never accept something because you think you will not get a better deal. Accept it only if you think this is the right job for you.'
'Don’t let the current economic situation affect your rationale. Remember, you should always like what you are doing. So it may take a little longer but I’m confident that you will find something you like and are comfortable with. Hey, you’re an economist and you know that there are business cycles and downturns are usually much shorter than upturns. :)'
'Still, it is worth the wait to find the right first job, because when you eventually get it, you will be thankful that you did not sign on for something that you are not excited about.'

Words from my 2 favourite profs (yes Huifang, one of them ahem ahem) and they set me thinking. Memories of me sitting in their office talking about future plans started to come back. It seems with all these job hunting, I'm starting to lose focus. They brought it back.

Now it's time to move on and hunt with more direction and precision!!! =))

Wish me luck everyone =))
