Of this and that
Yet another minor argument with the BF again. We seemed to be getting into arguments a little too frequent these days. But all is well, made up in like 20 minutes. Haha.
Met Sam for dinner, whom the BF refers to as "one of THOSE" i.e guys I have rejected before but stayed as friends. I think the BF needs to chill about the number of male friends in my life. Either that or I seriously need to work on collecting more female friends :/
We talked endlessly about his recent resignation from IB to pursue his dream of doing another startup (he cashed out the first one) and pondered much about Steve Jobs' commencement speech at Stanford - about never settling, about staying hungry and staying foolish.
"I remembered you job hunting for your first job for a whole 9 months because you refused to settle. And I remembered being impressed with that." he said.
Haha, yeah Prof Koh was really encouraging. And I guess I was lucky, falling in love with the industry since my first job, was my response.
Chatting with him brought back memories of my tenacity in job hunting and how I never settled for anything less than I've always wanted in life. Something I lost during my stint under my previous boss where I was willing to compromise anything as long as I never got yelled at. Even if it meant scraping by with bare minimum.
Now that the stint is over and I'm freed to start all over. There are some opportunities now lying on the table, some of which for roles I've never imagine I would be able to take on. Maybe someone up there is trying to tell me something. Just maybe, something good is really round the corner for me :))
