Make me laugh, the Lionel way
Lionel has this way of making me laugh at the simplest thing he says. I dunno why. On some days he can even lift my mood up. Although most of the time I end up having to raise my voice at him because he wasn't paying attention -_-
I dunno why but that Ah Gua part totally cracked me up.
Was having tuition earlier on and Aunt May (my facialist - who happened to be Lionel's aunt) was around with her 2 sons, one of them 2 mths old.
The roll eyes part made me laugh so hard! It's not easy to catch a 7 year old roll eyes like that man. LOL
I wrote near to 50 pages of 习字 (both English and Chinese) for him to write because the next tuition session is about 1 week later.
And then I erupted into laughters. Don't ask me why, coz I dunno it myself!
It's just Lionel la. LOL.
*Lionel looking at my new mascara in my shopping bag*
Lionel: "That's for the fingers or the feet?"
Me: "Wow you know this is cosmetic! It's for eyelashes."
*I touch my lashes and he touched his*
Me: "Yes! Eye-lashes. Repeat after me."
Lionel: "Eyelashes."
Me: "How come you know this is cosmetic?"
Lionel: "Because I always see Mummy paint her nails. So I thought the same."
Me: "Ooooooo. So do you use them *cheeky face*"
Lionel: "HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You think I Ah Gua meh?"
Me: "HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH"

*Heard the gate open and a lady's voice cooing at a baby*
Lionel: "Oh Mummy is back."
Me: "Oh your ears are sharp."
Lionel: "Only Mummy coo and ah to the baby like that ma. *roll eyes*"
Me: "HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAH"

Me: "YEAH! Now you got a lot of words to write for me."
*I throw hands up in the air*
Lionel: *crest-fallen expression* "Why you so happy?"
Me: "Because you have a lot of work to do before you see me next week."
Lionel: "Why like that also happy?"
Me: "Because I enjoy giving you homework."
Lionel: "You very bad. Jie jie very bad."
*pouts and fold arms*
And then I erupted into laughters. Don't ask me why, coz I dunno it myself!
It's just Lionel la. LOL.
It wasn't covered in 十万个为什么
Lionel always have questions for me. Some I answer with a breeze. Some I just "er..I don't quite know actually..."
Me: "What's number 16?"Actually I don't quite know the Answer o.O Lol
Lionel: "Wolf. 狼."
Me: "What's number 17?"
Lionel: "Fox. 狐狸."
Me: "What's num.."
**Lionel cuts in*
Lionel: "If the wolf and the fox fight, who will win?"
Me: "The wolf. Because you see, the wolf is way bigger than the fox."
Lionel: "What if it's a Mama Wolf and a Papa Fox? Who win?"
Me: "Erm still the wolf lo."
Bullying is bad
Sometimes I think Lionel rely too much on me for his assignments. Or maybe I am just expecting too much from a 7 year old child.
He had a Pastoral Care assignment yesterday which required my help. He needed to come up with a Bully-Free Campaign Poster.
I think primary school's assignments these days are getting a little too..beyond their age. Haha. Whatever happened to drawing of oranges and apples back in those days?
So while he stared at his blank paper trying to think of something to draw, I started to draw mine to serve as reference for him. I decided since children would prefer pictures than wordy posters, I came up with a good and bad example of treating your friends and classmates the right way.
The bad (abit drama, or in Taiwanese terms, 撒狗血): (click to enlarge)
(If you are wondering why I draw a younger girl and an older boy - Lionel has a younger sister whom he's fiercely protective of. Drew to fit the theme. Haha.)
The good: (click to enlarge)
Which was erm..idealistic. Haha.
Lionel deemed my characters too difficult to draw and he simplified it himself. It became:
I think I should add more money for being his Art teacher also. Haha

The 名师 who didn't 出高徒
One of Lionel's assignments was to write about what he want to be when he grow up. He wants to be a policeman.
Rather typical.
Like how I wanted to be a doctor when I was young and held on to it until well I didn't make it to triple science class in Sec 3. Lol.
He needs to draw his ambition and had no idea how to. So being his tutor, I guess this comes under my responsibility.
So I drew one: which slouched and had short arms...haha
Lionel: "Your policeman look like girl!"
Me: "-_-. No lo. So manly can. See he's holding a gun."
Lionel: "I can draw better lo!"
Me: "Ok ok..draw draw.."
Lionel's version: which looks a little..stressed with the stiff shoulders..haha
Lionel: "Mine SO MUCH nicer!" *beams*
Me: "-_-"
Ok fine mine wasn't of Picaso's standard but I secretly think mine was better. Haha. But I didn't want to burst his bubble so I applauded and said his policeman looks mighty and suave while mine looks like a frigging faggot.

Tutor from hell
Lionel totally flunked his English test.
23.5/50!
OMG.
And the best part was..I didn't even know he had a test coming up. Well until damage was done. The best part was he say he didn't know he was going to have a test either -_-.
Right.
And so I'm gonna drill him like mad from now on since he flunked his frigging English paper.
I came up with my own:
I even drew this:
I'm gonna drill him like mad for flunking this test.

Of shitty heels, long train rides and nonsense from Lionel
Had morning class yesterday. As usual, I was so frigging lost in FI investments class. I can NEVER see my career going that direction. EVER. And I learned, quite a number of people in class are pretty lost too.
Boy A: "Eh..you understand what he talking about?"
Boy B: "I dunno leh! He writes everything across the 6 boards first, then we copy like crazy. Then still have to catch what he's talking at bullet speed.."
Boy A: "You know when you are trying hard to copy, then you cannot focus on what he says. When you focus on what he says..then you cannot copy! Argh."
Boy B: "Yea! And then when you think you understand when you were listening to him..and then you try to write it down..then you realise..you understand nothing."
HAHA. My exact sentiment. Lol.
Prof went through Assignment #7...
Prof: "Ok Qn 1. It was phrased beautifully. So I guess we don't have to go through it. Qn 2 then."
Class: -______-||
Don't everyone just love him. Haha.
Was dressed in formal business wear since I had to go for a verbal and reasoning test for one of the companies I applied to. Geez. Hate walking around in formal wear, make up and heels :S
Class ended early as usual (and that probably being the only reason why I like the class..haha). Took a train down to Woodlands. It was such a long journey I finished half my book lo. Geez. And to think it was from City Hall! Imagine I set off from my place :S
I was early. Almost an hour early actually XD. Hahaha. But still went in to register because the sun was too blazing hot outside and it's always better to be early than late :D
My pass:
Nice.
I ended up sitting in the lobby with another guy, who was a graduate from NTU. And then subsequently, many came. And many were from NTU -_-. I was grossly outnumbered. Hahaha. Most were engineering students. I seemed to be the only Economics and Finance kid around :S
We went in to the training room for the 2 tests and it lasted 2 hours. We had an interactive session with one of the previous graduate from their trainee program. He was really funny and covered basically most of what we need to know about the program.
Did a time check: 3.25pm. Time to set off to Tampines to give tuition at 7pm. I love standing at the Woodlands platform:
Very niceeeeee
When I reached Bedok, it was only 4.30pm. So I decide to go home first. I need to change those shitty heels. Haha.
I dashed home, even though I have enough time to even go for a proper meal before going for tuition. But I haven't loan new books for Lionel :S So I dashed home, changed out of my formal outfit, just keeping the formal top so as to save my mum from washing too many clothes. Haha.
Pulled a white racer-back over my pink formal shirt, white shorts and I was ready to go XD
Mum: "What kind of outfit is that?!"
Me: "Anyhow wear outfit lo."
Ok what...it has a preppy feel...HAHA.
Couldn't be bothered to dig for my slipper, I just took out the nearest pair of Kitty heels I could find.
Man, choice of footwear was wrong right from the start.
By the time I alighted at Tampines Station, it was already cutting into the back of my ankle la. I limped to Guardian to buy plasters. Didn't help much :S Limped to Tampines Library (which was such a long walk from the station..omg) to return the books I loaned for Lionel. And then limped all over the children's section, trying to find the books that wasn't too tough to read but interesting enough to catch his attention.
I think I make a good future mum. HAHA.
Got him "Just the right stripes" and "Ruby paints a picture":
before I limped out of the library to get my dinner. Had packeted rice and then head off to his place. Timing was just so nice. I reached his place at exactly 7pm. Waha.
Lionel was fidgety yesterday. Because he hates doing assessment. The more he hates it, the more I make him do. I think I pamper him a bit on the grammar and vocabulary a little too much in the past. He's always relying on me to read difficult words to him. Tsk tsk tsk.
He can't even colour his maths homework properly la:
I think his mum heard me scolding Lionel for not paying attention and then the maid came in with a cup of herbal tea for me XD. Oops. Haha. For the uninitiated, the mum has given me the authority to scold Lionel if he doesn't listen to me. Wahahahaha.
I gave him my ultimatum: If you can't finish the assignment, no story-telling and 2 more practices for maths and English. He got scared after his whining didn't work on me and finished up his work quietly. Story-telling and more homework are my only ways to tell him to sit properly and stop rolling on his bed.
I ended class at 9pm and Lionel wanted me to stay to watch the 9pm show (Just in Singapore) with him while he supper. His younger sister, Kris joined in. With the sister sitting on my lap and Lionel leaning on me on the side, I had no way to run. It ended up with them playing wif my handphone and asking me to send weird messages and emoticons when I was replying an sms -_-.
Lionel: "Put 7 angry face! Then you type your message. Then you put 3 wif the open mouth one."
Kris: "No! I want the one wif the kissing one~~~~."
-_-
When the message was sent, they erupt into hysterical laughters and will wait by the phone to see it vibrate -_-.
"Reply liao reply liao! See what she say see what she say!" -_-
I had to put an end to the rubbish before my phone explodes from them fighting for it (Lionel refuse to let Kris hold and vice versa.
I'm gonna hide my phone elsewhere next time.
