Old stuff

You know you really need to clean up the room when you still have your university acceptance letter(s) and matriculation stuff loitering around.

Blogged from my iPhone

Are you from Europe?

A French lady posed me that question at the industry gathering yesterday night.

"Er.. No. Hahaha. I'm from Singapore." I replied.

"Oh! You look like an Eurasian. I thought one of your parents may be from Europe."

If there's one thing to be grateful about people always being confused about my country of origin - its that its such a great conversation starter. Hurhur. Other than that, it gets quite annoying when you have to insist there's no need to check the family tree.

Blogged from my iPhone

Little note

The mute architect in my office passed me a little note today that says "I think you are pretty".

How sweet is that!

Blogged from my iPhone

"Are you a Singaporean?"

If I get a dollar every time someone ask me this (strangers included), I'll be a pretty rich person by now.

Dress Crisis

People who knows me well, knows I have a pathetic collection of dresses. Have never been a huge fan of dresses since a really young age since I've always enjoyed running around with the boys in school and neighbourhood. Dresses are seriously the last thing you want to wear.

I so need to get some nice dresses soon. I have 3 weddings to attend before June itself.

Oh my god.

7 pages of to-do

If there's something I've learned about me over the years - never leave me alone with nothing entertaining except a notebook and a pen.

I was holed up at the Beijing airport the other day with nothing to do (didn't really want to end up looking like every other business person working furiously away on their laptop at S*tarbucks) - so I took out my notebook and pen.

I ended up with 7 pages worth of to-do list. SEVEN! Like seriously? I even managed to segregate them into sections of Career, Health, Housekeeping, Finance, Fashion, Education, Misc.

Now tell me about being really busy in the next few weeks.

PS: I have this innate need to strike things off so well I guess that's a huge motivating point to get my arse moving on certain things that are left undone in my life! Haha

To do or not to do

I've been thinking of going chestnut brown for my hair. I've always wondered how I look with chestnut brown hair given I have a not very Chinese face.

But it means I have to dye my eyebrows too.

Because they are so dark no eyebrow pen in the market can compete. Hahaha. So I'll look really weird if I have chestnut brown hair and black eyebrows!

Should I???

Cmon cmon

Cmon cmon, get a grip girl!

You can do it.

Identity crisis

First I was named F*rancesca by the Friday hangout gang.

And then someone pointed out I look like Thai. So it became Khun (sort of the Mr/Miss in Thai) T*ittyporn. And then another one mentioned, I look a bit Filipino too.

And then it became Khun T*ittyporn M*ariah.

I noted that F*rancesca will now go down in history *cue cheers*

It became Khun Beautiful T*ittyporn M*ariah F*rancesca W*ong Y*u H*ui.

I don't know what my name will become by the end of the year.

Discovery of the day

My eyes are brown. I've always thought they were black.

Photobucket

Apparently I have't been looking at myself into the mirror very often. Ha

The Eurasian

I was queuing faithfully at chinese mixed rice today - I'm such an ardent fan my colleagues get a shock if I decide to eat something else (I know I know I know...I broke the healthy eating habits just within the day - but I had my serving of fruits. Please~~~~forgive me.) and I think it was the first time in many months I spoke to the stall auntie in mandarin.

She threw me a really surprised look.

Auntie: "I thought you Eurasian! Aiyo now I no need so stress speak English liao."

Right. When I was in China, they thought I was from Xinjiang. I recalled my first day at work, every other person thought I was some new cool Burmese/Thai/Filipino chick and was greeted with a "wow so which country are you from?" by every expatriate. My first day at St R*egis Singapore, they thought I was the new Director of RM from Thailand. The Shanghainese management trainees didn't believe I am a Singaporean. How can~~~?

Intern: "Hey! That's a new identity! You had Thai-Chinese, Burmese, Vietnamese, XinJiang, Malay, Filipino-Chinese...and now you are Eurasian!"

Now now, at least I have walked out of Asia. *dry laugh*

Wander to paradise

I have about 6 days of leave (rolled over from last year) to clear before March ends - my boss says if I don't clear it, the system will take it away by the time Q1 is over :(

Am thinking of a little short getaway to somewhere nearby - where I can chill and watch the world go by. Most importantly, somewhere I won't be thinking about my emails and reports ;p

Sam was saying it's the best time to travel now - since everywhere is on sale. It doesn't help that S*tarwood hotels have lower S*tarhot (employee) rates now =D

Ooooo so very tempting.

No money for Maldives...Phuket also can.. XD
And then my holidays will always end up the same way.
It never happens. Hahaha

I can't help...

but find the following at least 98% true. Never really believed in horoscope that much, but I find so many traits of me in the 2 paragraphs.

Taking it from my sister's blog,

SAGITTARIUS - The Happy-Go-Lucky One

Good-natured optimist. Doesn’t want to grow up (Peter Pan Syndrome). Indulges self. Boastful. Likes luxuries and gambling. Social and outgoing. Doesn’t like responsibilities. Often fantasizes. Impatient. Fun to be around. Having lots of friends. Flirtatious. Doesn’t like rules. Sometimes hypocritical. Dislikes being confined - tight spaces or even tight clothes. Doesn’t like being doubted. Beautiful inside and out.

SAGITTARIUS - The Promiscuous One

Spontaneous. High appeal. Rare to find. Great when found. Loves being in long relationships. So much love to give. A loner most of the time. Loses patience easily and will not take crap. If in a bad mood stay FAR away. Gets offended easily and remembers the offense forever. Loves deeply but at times will not show it feels it is a sign of weakness. Has many fears but will not show it. VERY private person. Defends loved ones will all their abilities. Can be childish often. Not one to mess with. Very pretty. Very romantic. Nice to everyone they meet. Their Love is one of a kind. Silly, fun and sweet. Have own unique appeal. Most caring person you will ever meet! Amazing in bed!!! Not the kind of person you want to mess with- you might end up crying.

Those in bold/italic are those I can concur with. ZOMG so true.

The remaining? That's for others to judge. Lol

Dreaming up the next blockbuster II

Evidently, there's a part one to it.

I probably did dream up the next blockbuster AGAIN. I think there's something wrong with my brain when I'm sleeping.

It started with....a trip to Malacca with my girlfriends.

And the scary thing...I'm gonna be I AM going on a Malacca trip with the girlfriends..this coming Wednesday -_-

Ok back to dream.

When we reach our hotels, Shufen (one of my girlfriends) wanted to play a new game on the her laptop. It was a game with purely Japanese instructions so we took a while to figure out how to play.

The game will start off with an overview of a town in almost complete darkness. We are supposed to locate flashing figures in yellow. They are supposed to be wandering souls who dunno they are dead. We click on the yellow flashing figures and direct them to their bodies to score points.

I think a lack of Bleach Anime has taken its toll on my life.

We continued with the game but we found it hard to score because Shufen had a faulty optical mouse and we decide to head out to get a new one.

Ah, here's where the main plot unfolds.

We exchanged for some riggit and head up to this really huge shopping mall.

While shopping halfway...the entire shopping mall went dark and it seems..everyone disappeared. Suddenly there were...flashing figures in yellow all over the place. And they all seem to be running away from the main corridors and hiding into the shops.

All of a sudden, it dawned to us that we were in the game ourselves. Somehow we had optical mice (is that even right..haha) on us. But Shufen's and mine failed because ours was...usb connected ones. It didn't work. Only Joyce's work coz hers is a wireles one.

HAHA.

So we ran around trying to find her but we ended up being chased by one of the flashing figures and so we hid into a room. Suddenly a close-up female face came up from behind us!

And then I woke up in shock. To a splitting headache as well.

I went back to sleep and not surprising in my case, the dream actually went on.

Somehow we managed to escape the female face and we were on the corridor again. There were weird noises around and Shufen shove me into a shop selling toiletries. We hid into the storeroom and Shufen came up with the theory that the souls probably could smell our "human scent" and so we should continue hiding in here. Somehow the storeroom had a vv small window at the side of the wall and we could see the flashing figures walking past the shop. Somehow they saw us but never really noticed our presence.

Maybe Shufen was right. So we poured shampoo and body shower all over us, planned our escape route and went dashing out.

I woke up again.

And then I decide it's time I go back to bed just to know the ending.

I did.

The dream changed scene to the front lobby of the hotel where Joyce was there waiting for us. Shufen and I was still covered in soap all over and somehow..Ken Chu from F4 (!?!?!?!?) was standing beside us drenched in shampoo as well -_-

What kind of dream is that sia.

Retrolicious?

For a moment, I was tempted to go back to this hairstyle:
My orh-bit Primary 1 mushroom head image.

Guffaws.

Of course in a more stylish way. *roll eyes*

**On a side note, NTU has a new canteen. Simin did an entry on it but quoting Hungry Ghost Festival XD. Wahaha.

I'm jealous of the Sakae Sushi and Canadian Pizza :((

High time to ambush an NTU student and steal the card.

Ok mug mug mug. 5 more days to exams!

OMFG. (Oh My Frigging God for the uninitiated.)

This is the injuried baby bird squatting at the corner of my balcony. I think it fell off it's nest or had an accident while learning to fly. It limps and its butt is kinda crooked :S

Was supposed to being it to my doctor cousin's place for a look but today it was able to leap up to the food dish we placed on the rack. My mum say maybe it is improving on its own.

We'll just wait and see.

I get tired very easily nowadays. I came back from school and crashed onto the sofa. Woke up at 6 plus to.....

Mum: "王钰惠!还不要起来?! 今晚要做贼啊?!"

And yea I found out I crashed for about 5 plus hours. Hahahahaha.

Pig.

OH! Edison Chen finally went back to HK this morning and had a press conference earlier. He mentioned he is deeply sorry for all the happenings and announced that he will leave entertainment industry once the things are settled.

:S

Congrats to Singapore on getting the bid for Youth Olympics 2010!!!!!! :) Singapore is starting to be a wee bit exciting eh? Hahahaaha

Nostalgic

Packing up one's room can serve as a chance to go back in time. Coz it's easy to find things that have gone missing in your life after you left childhood hastily to pursue the adulthood.

On why my sister put this on the door

Me: "Why is this on our door?"
Sis: "Because the moment you step through this door, it means you are living your life to be fullest."
Me: "More like living trash to the fullest right, look at the room."
Sis: "Yea lo, all your doings."
Me: "-_-"

We started off with the CD rack which there were hundreds of them. Yes hundreds. My sister is an ardent fan of non-pirated music. Hahaha.

And then we re-discovered Spice Girls and Britney's first album, Baby One More Time. Hahaha. Those teenage days! Hahahaha.

And then move on to the drawers.

Rediscovered my sticker books!
And my lame collection of weird things. But not to forget my favourite furry stickers. Hahaha

And then I discovered some childhood photos of mine
On discovering my framed childhood photos

Me: "Why are they here?"
Sis: "How I know sia. Ask ma."
Me: "Like I died some time ago and they decide to stash my photo away."
Sis: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

Oh well, they used to be put in the living room display cupboard! Hahahaha. Trying to be difficult here. Hahaha.

And then I discovered my Nintendo. The ancient predecessor of handheld consoles. The throw-out-sure-can-kill-someone handheld console.
And then Kirby's Dream Land! One of my favourite games, back then. Hahaha
Haha.

We ended the cleaning up by hanging one of the stuffed toys we found at the door.
On why it was hung at the door

Me: "Why are you putting it there?"
Sis: "It's our guard dog."
Me: "That's damn lame can."
Sis: "Lame lo, it will protect me only. Since you choose to sleep in the study room."
Me: "-_-."

Hahahahaha. I have weird pple in my house. Hahahaa.

I been having rashes since I came back from Beijing. The doctor says it's because Singapore is too humid and Beijing was too dry. That was the reason. And plus the fact that I keep scratching it, it totally slows the healing process.

So I was given this medicine to knock me out at night totally, so I won't be tempted to scratch. Hahaha.
*Drumrollz*
Everyone, this is my little blue pill. HAHAHAHAHA. My U哥...hahahaha...not 伟哥. Lol. It has a U on the pill. So it's U哥 XD.

Okay lame.

Shall end off this entry wif a nice song.

Open Arms - Journey

Was helping Mingkeat download this song yesterday night. It's damn nice! It's hard finding a video with the full song and a proper video coz it's a damn old song. Like 1982. I wasn't even born! This video is a mix between Live and CD version so the sound quality is not totally consistent. Oh man, can someone pass me the piano score for this piece!

I spent the whole night playing it on my Ipod. Till I fall aslp. It's very nice. Okay Sng Ming Keat, you will be my source of new music next time. Hahaha.

Dejunking can be such a bitch

Been spending about 2 days de-junking my wardrobe. Tell me about an arduous task -_-.

My mum was so proud of me I swear I saw tears in her eyes when she saw this:
Hahaha. Tell you guys a secret, my wardrobe still looks packed after this 5 bags of stuff -_-.

And I found this:
My 17th Birthday card from the JC Band Perc section. Hahaha. Sweet 17th sia. Sounds like a distant past. And of coz, damn weird to find it in my wardrobe -_-. Gives everyone a picture of how messy I can be :S

I realised I have quite a number of skirts that haven't seen the daylight since I was Year 1. Lol. Sign that SMU really doesn't make you wanna dress nicely to school anymore:
Okay maybe they will still not see the daylight until I totally run out of shorts/jeans to wear. Haha. Btw, this is only one part of my wardrobe, there's still the other side. Lol.

My sis got me 2 necklaces:

On why she bought me the 2 necklaces

Sis: "Eh I got something for you."
*take out 2 necklaces*
Me: "Wah so nice buy things for me wor."
Sis: "Coz I found them nice."
Me: "Then why didn't you keep it for yourself?"
Sis: "Not my style. 我不走可爱路线."
Me: "-_-."

Thanks sis by the way. Hahaha

Went for my Grandpa's 1st death anniversary ceremony at my Grandma's place earlier today. Time really flies, it's like his death was only yesterday. When we were all still huddled together crying, feeling that sharp pain of losing someone so dear.

Because everyone went down to burn things for my Grandpa, only Julianne and me were left behind to do some cleaning up work. That's Jul slacking away like a big boss. Tsk tsk tsk

Okay, she did contribute as well:
We ended the day with great lunch. Man I was starving like crazy can..hahahaha

Okay, time to go off. I wanna watch Bleach. Lol.

Of the little things in life that amuse me

Velonz is sick today :( Hope she get well soon. Because of that, I decide I should just go out and get the Christmas gifts myself. Exchanging gifts in 4 days' time and I haven't got any idea what to buy -_-.

I cleared my study desk (OH FINALLY) and left the hse by around 5pm. As usual, when I'm alone outside, I like to 耍自闭. With my cap and my MP3 in full blast, I was in a world of my own :)

I alighted at Bugis, thinking maybe I should walk around to see what little gifts I could get for the exchange session. But stomach was growling, and I recalled I didn't ate anything besides breakfast -_-, and decide maybe I should eat first before going for the prezzie hunt.

I head out to Mos Burger (omg, like again -_-), found a damn corner seat, sat down with my book and waited for my meal. I ate slowly, concentrating more on my book (btw, it's 爱过,更要好好过 by 吴淡如. Love her books, but have no idea why I need to read it..ahhaha). Before I knew it, 1.5 hrs passed and I realised I haven't got my gifts -_-. I head out and realised I walked out of Mos in the wrong direction and I ended up outside the Central Library -_-.

Heck, since I'm here, might as well go in. Hahaha.

It was like back as a child, when my parents would always bring us to the Library on Sundays. I recalled when I was 7 and my mum was reading to me some Chinese Poems Collection, she told me:"YuHui, you must love to read. Because your wealth can be lost, your status can be taken away, but your knowledge, once yours, will always be yours. No one can steal it from you". Such an enlightening statement. Till this day, it drives me to learn and read more. Thanks Ma for that :)

I zoomed around the familiar categories looking for new books on shelf.

*LITTLE THING #1: LAUGHING TO MYSELF

I was walking along the shelves and glad to find what I wanna find: Thrillers Shelf. Then this song came up (Usually I don't follow the song list because I have this habit of laughing out loud to myself if it's a funny song -_-. So to avoid that, I usually choose every song individually. But when I'm lazy or simply busy with something else, I just let the songs run):

女孩别为我哭泣 - 黄俊郎(Song from Jay Chou's movie - Secret)

I let off a small laugh. Only to realize I am in the quiet Library -_-. I glanced sideways and realize one couple sitting at a corner was staring at me. Must have disturbed their mini PDA(Public Display of Affection)session. Heck they were wrong to be doing such things in the library anyway. I shouldn't feel paiseh..hahaha *stick tongue out*

*LITTLE THING #2: COMPLIMENTS
I was looking through more books when a China girl approached me and asked me where I got my cap -_-. Hey I know I carry off the cap well..hahahah..just joking -_-. I told her it was from Esprit and she went off. Actually I was keen to continue a conversation with her la, but given that it's a library and I can't chat freely, I decided to give it a go.

*LITTLE THING #3: COOL KEYBOARD

Wanted to find some finance books and then found this keyboard at one of the information station:

With Indian words! Cool! I actually let out a small laugh! Hahaha

Realized it was already 8pm *gasp!* and was still without presents -_-, I grabbed a Stephen King book (I am giving this author the 5th chance. I nv finish his books..ahhaa) and a Sheldon Siegel. No new Sidney Sheldon books. Argh. I want my Sidney Sheldon! And I still don't understand why Shaun said it's literature porn -_-. I never thought it that way leh. Must be because it's all in the mind >.< Hahaha

*LITTLE THING #4: THAT CUTE GUY AGAIN
When I was about to leave the library, the corner of my eye caught a tall figure in white shirt, white pants and white cap. *Feels familiar* So I turned over and look. *Gasp!* The cute guy I saw on the train 2 weeks ago!

(2 weeks ago) We got on the train in Bugis. I remembered he was standing opposite me in the train and he was in a cap also. He was very engrossed in his book. But man, he got very nice sharp features. His nose reminds me of Wu Zun. I remember the girls around me were all whispering about the guy in white cap. Hahaha. He looked up when the operator announced "Kallang" and I went "Gorgeous...." inside. Hahahaha. And darn, he got off too fast. Hahahah. Such a great motivation to go Central Library more. But then again, I think Bedok Library has more books.

I dashed off back to Bugis to see what I could get for the exchange gifts session. Found some cute and practical small stuff. Queue to pay was wayyyyy too long, so I shall buy them tmr :)

*LITTLE THING #5: OBSERVING PEOPLE ON THE TRAIN

I like to observe people. I dunno why. Sometimes when I look at someone, I like to cook up stories about that person. Hahahaha. Like family background, education, occupation, personality, where he/she is going. Maybe Mingkeat is right in saying I shouldn't do banking jobs, I should write scripts coz I have such good imagination. Erm, I like to imagine that is a compliment. Hahahaha.

I realize a lot of girls are wearing knee-length socks now. Is that an ongoing trend or is it simply the weather?

I remember those Japanese bubble socks days back in secondary school lo. I remember wearing it to my aunt's wedding in a hotel in Orchard. I was in those preppy kinda clothes, I think was shirt with short skirt, knee length bubble socks and those very Japanese kinda black girlie shoes (that was supposed to go with the white bubble socks). I recalled it was the "in" outfit of that era (sounds old). But then, after being stopped by some stupid uncle with a "Hey girl, you look familiar." and had me practically running to the hotel (doesn't help that I am running into a hotel -_-), I swore never to wear such things again.

But some girls match their socks in such weird manners it sent me laughing inside. Like white socks and black heels? omg. Where's the fashion police?

Okay, shall go offline soon so I can read the new books I borrowed. I borrowed another 4 from Bedok Library, which makes 8 in total. I had so many books on me that I was dropping one every now and then. Drop, bend over pick up, drop another -_-. I think if it wasn't for those books, I probably would have got home faster. Hahaha.

Shall end off the entry with:

Wu Zun and his new gym! Hahaha.

Yea la, Wu Zun again -_-. Hahahaha

And for the guys:

My favourite 33 year old *gasp!* Taiwanese model: Lin Chi Ling!

Quote of the day: "You must love to read. Because your wealth can be lost, your status can be taken away, but your knowledge will always be yours. It's an asset that will never be lost." - My mum. Hahaha

I did it! (not exactly)

I finally gone for the chop!

Like real -_-.

My sister decided that since I wanna see how I look like with short hair, she says I should clip up all my hair and see how it is like. Like agar-agar how it will look like.

So my hair went from:

to:

And quite obviously, all was done in the very cluttered toilet of mine. Hahaha. Short but so cool! Enjoyed the wind across the back of my neck..wahahaha

And tada! The new 花美男 of SMU:

And I eagerly shared my new image with Terence:

Teekay says:
Can discount the cutting not.. really very short leh

YuHui says:
I was tinking of short

Teekay says:
you think you are trying to pull off a mulan meh

-_-". I thought the length was okay. Hahahaa.

And okay everyone! Now you all know how I look like without my braces but with a still puffy face and nose :)

But well notice that I'm smiling a bit un-naturally because:
1) I am extremely not used to a mouth without braces
2) I am still a little puffy around the nose and cheeks area. So it's abit weird to smile.
3) Suspected botox case. Lyna suggested it during Saturday's "Bestie Khakis" gathering :)
