Over.

Had my last paper, Environmental Science this afternoon.

As I entered the Admin Building for the last exam of my 16 years of official education, I think I will start to miss a lot of things.

While I could visit SMU any time in future as an alumni, I can....

1) No longer see exam lifts the same way again:
Photobucket

2) No longer rush last minute stupid assignments before the exam:
Photobucket

3) No longer squeeze in Admin Building's exam hall while waiting to get in:
Photobucket

4) No longer wait for Professors to count our papers while we wait like dumb ducks:
Photobucket

5) No longer heave a sigh of relief when the Professor announce we can go off:
Photobucket

6) No longer stare at the tables in the exam hall with a stinging feeling in me:
Photobucket

7) No longer look at these beautiful to-die-for sceneries while having exams:
Photobucket

8) No longer see cute Lost & Found corners in exam halls:
Photobucket

Oh I'm already starting to miss life as an undergraduate :(((

I'm going to miss...

1) Seeing the Sports Hall as my exam hall:
Photobucket

2) Seeing my height as my seat number:
Photobucket

Give me a few weeks, I might even start missing...

PhotobucketAssignment submission boxes outside office.

I was flipping through my schedule book and faced with a sudden decrease in workload and deadlines, I felt very empty inside.

No exams to mug.

No assignments to do.

No reports to rush.

No next semester to look forward to.

No new courses to add colours to my life.

:((((

Drenched

Photobucket

If I didn't run into Gershon at City Hall train station this morning, I reckon I won't even see that little piece of light blue there.

Nice way to sit through my shiteous 3 hours worth of Analysis of Fixed-Income Investments exam at 9am.

With cold legs (feet) that is. Hahaha

What irony

How can the same financial model have such different formulas.

I hate studying Fixed-Income Investments. It's like un-learning everything I learned for Derivatives and re-learning new (and may I add totally different) formulas for the same financial models.

The irony is, both courses share the same textbook -_-.

Textbook and Prof's notes have different formulas for the same thing. And just to study for FI, I created the biggest mess ever on my table. Cross-checking between Derivatives powerpoint slides, FI's notes and Derivatives textbook:
Photobucket

It reminds me of what my uncle said last sem with regards to my table:

"I dunno how you made it to university with this kinda mess on the table."

-_-

And the best part is, I used both formulas on the same question:
Photobucket

And both had different answers -_- But of course, his formulas resulted in the same answers as his answer keys.

Taking it from Shunhao, who's as butt-itchy as me to take both Derivatives and Fixed Income in the same semester: "Wah Kao! Faintz"

We came to a consensus, we should just use whatever is on his notes. Well, it's his module after all.

If my prof mark me down for any wrong answers due to formula-related errors, I'm gonna throw the notes in his face.

Paper 1

1st paper of my last semester in SMU.

FNCE 305 Analysis of Derivatives.

It was a happening paper.

Because no one expected the professor to ask something with regards to the nature of implied volatility of option prices.

It's supposed to be a number in the Black-Scholes Model! Who reads about the nature?! I had to flip to the 1.5 page write-up about Implied Volatility, spend 1 min reading it before I could answer the question -_-.

Hahaha.

Yicui reminded me that after 2 more papers, we are officially out of school.

OMG.

I'm starting to miss SMU already.

:(

P.S: I got my letter with regards to Government's Ang Bao. Muahahaha.

Mugging

Everytime when I make Lionel do his much-dreaded English assessment book and Han Yu Pin Yin practice questions, it reminds me how I feel when I have to study my much-dreaded Environmental Science, Analysis of Fixed-Income Investments and Analysis of Derivatives.

It's painful.

And I realize it's during the exams period, I start to really rant on my blog. Hahaha. I can't help it. I can't possibly rant to my Black-Scholes Model equations, nor can I rant to the interest rate swaps.

My mugging days are numbered.

Much as I love it as much as I love cockroaches, I gotta cherish them :)))

Had tuition just now and it's the first time I teach Lionel Chinese spelling. He got full marks for his trial spelling, and I decide to reward him by teaching him how to draw a chicken.

Yea that's my reward. XD

Photobucket
Obviously the nicer one above is my drawing.Photobucket

I lost the cap of my correction fluid. And decide to make full use of the star Jiahui gave me the other time when we were mugging in Mac.

Photobucket

As what Shunhao says, it's innovation at its best. XD

Class participation

Class Participation, A Documentary from SMU Campus TV on Vimeo.

It's a SMUBE (My extended family) and CTV (under SMUBE)'s production on SMU's class participation.

It's pretty well done and I suppose it serves as a platform for those who wanna know SMU more.

Black is..erm..the new Black

According to Blackle, when the computer screen is predominantly black, it saves more energy than having a white/lighter shade one.

As an Environmental Science student, I shall do my part. So those reading my blog, I'm giving you all a chance to earn some good karma :))) Okok, do it for Mother Earth.

But of course, having a little pink aid me in adapting to this blogskin. Emotionally that is.

Prof, if you are reading this (near to zero possibility I reckon), maybe you can give me some extra marks in the finals for making real solid contributions in trying to improve the environment.

Studying Environmental Science depresses me.

Knowing I will be jobless in 7 days, depresses me more.

And realizing my days as an undergrad is numbered, depresses me EVEN more.

Mood is so black.

Bleah.

Kopi C

Was doing some data research for Cocoa Futures when I came across this on Bloomberg:
Photobucket

It reminds me of the time when I nearly burst out laughing during Derivatives class when Xinyee's answer to it was "KOPI C?"

I can't believe I still have reports and 2 more assignments to do during my study week.

What a way to end my university life.

-_-

And I had to cancel tuition tonight. Don't want to spread my flu bug to Lionel and his sister.

Lesser money this month :(((

Brokeeee.....

Over!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE presentation is overrrr!!!!!!!!!!

I was a nervous wreck the entire day and it passed on to Kausar as well. Hahaha :x

I was nervous not because I have to stand in front of a seminar to give presentation. I did them so many times over my 4 years in SMU.

I was nervous because the team was presenting on EU ETS (European Union Emissions Trading Scheme) and TEQ (Tradeable Energy Quotas). Something not very business related, not very finance related. Not something you can pull some background knowledge from your previous Finance class.

It's a totally new field of energy saving, and caring for the environment kinda module. Everything is in the aspect of science, environment and the better well-being of well, Mother Earth.

I admit we have read loads of science journals, EU reports, analyze graphs of global warming, the rising levels of carbon dioxide. Have gone through our arguments, stands and sources quite a number of times.

I re-wrote my script about 5 times. I wanted every sentence to be right. I didn't want to be tore apart by the prof.

She likes to tear presentations apart with her scientific approach towards everything.

Business Finance, Economics and Accounting students don't really approach things that way:S

We were the 3rd team out of 4 to present today. By the time the first time was presenting, I was holding onto my script and repeating to Kausar like 2 million times per minute, and asking her if my script had any flaws -_-

We had our presentation after the break and during that time, Ben Chia and Tuan Kiat spent a lot of time joking and easing our tension.

It helped a lot :)

The presentation went thru and my part went perfectly and I kept to my timing nicely. We could answer all the questions thrown at us and the Prof event made the comment of "excellent answer" *beams*

It was such a relief everything was over and we decide it was time we need to go out and take photo with one of the conserved trees in school for the final final project to be submitted during the finals.

Youfen: "Should we go and take pict wif the trees now?"
Ben: "At this timing? (6.50pm), we can only catch Hantu-s on photo!"
Me: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH."

Then there was lightning and thunder outside.

Tuan Kiat: "Oh man...now really cannot take. It's dangerous to stand around trees now."
Me: "Yea man.."
Youfen: "But I still want to tk.."
Tuan Kiat: "If you are going to take it now, it might be ur funeral photo lo."
Me: "HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAA."

So we dropped the idea and decide we should just go dinner coz I kept repeating I am so hungry..lol

We walked to Bugis in the rain, and in my 3 inches heels, I wanted to die but it was fun coz Ben Chia and Tuan Kiat were so funny. Hahahaha.

We went to KFC, and talked about many funny things. It was so much fun working with them :)

Ok time to go and rest lo...need to start working on FI assignment and other stuff....

Hehe.

:S

I'm a nervous-wreck I dunno why.

Given the number of presentations done over the years in SMU, I shouldn't be in the state I am in.

Maybe I'm not confident about this module :(

I'm just not a very science-y person :S

Bah.

:(

Wendy always make me jealous about her shopping trips in Australia :( I want to join her too :(

School work sucks. And tmr being Week 13 sucks even more. It translates into project presentations, report deadlines and many many many many assignments due.

It also mean I am...

One step closer to exams.

One step closer to graduation.

One step closer to unemployment.

Rarrrhhh.

These are the times...that I would love to listen to Kitaro's Matsuri:

Nice. So nice. It's my dad's favourite too :). Haha

And thanks Terence for the msg of informing everyone that you got checked at the MRT for the 11th time. You made my day and you're the man. I look forward to the Sweet 16th, Mature 18th and Adult 21st time for being checked by MRT Security. Lol.

My Safari Broswer puts me in a good mood sometimes. Especially when I have to read reports off the net :)

I hope this happens (look down):

About NTU and SMU

About the ads, for the uninitiated, refer to recap.

Some other blogger have posted an explanation for it.

So they bought the keyword "SMU" huh?

Tsk

Sorry to say this....

But I think NTU is getting a little too desperate?

Anyway, this entry is not against any individual or organization in particular.

My friend messaged me when I was still in school. Saying if you want to see how desperate NTU is, please google "SMU Singapore"

I went home, did that, and found nothing.

Something told me to visit Daryl's blog. So it was there. Double click on picture for bigger view.

No wonder I couldn't find it. Coz it was removedalready.

Ah.

[update at 9.17am on 20th March 2008]
I take back my words about the removal.

I found it on Google Singapore.

I clicked on it. Yea it's a live link to NTU admissions.

So darlings, are you guys thinking that we don't surf the net?

Lol

Geez

Why did I take Fixed Income

There's a reason why Miss Can't-live-without-a-bed-and-some-good-quality-hours-of-sleep Wong is still around at this ungodly hour.

I dunno how to do my FI assignment.

And there's a group discussion in..erm..6-7 more hours? And I'm supposed to wake up at 6am for Curry Chicken breakfast and erm 8.30am class.

Thought I will never say this but..I think I am enjoying Derivatives class more now.

Geez

I don't care, I'm going to bed now. I can't think anymore.

Geez

Once in a blue moon

Skirt. Foundation. Heels. Lip gloss. Blusher. Concealer. Dainty feminine bag.

As what the title suggest, you can only catch me in those once in a blue moon. Hahahahaahah.

If not for today's Networking session and my friend's "Hey I think you wear pants look super domineering la. Wear skirt la!", I would gladly have wore pants.

I swear my walking speed totally cut by half today lo. No more big strides, no sitting down in any comfy positions I want. Rarrhh

I'm sorry it's blur. For some reason, this suit is pretty loose. Either I have lost weight since the last time I wore it (which was 3 years ago), or the suit has grown. I like to think it's the former. Hahahahaha.

This time round I didn't wear a formal shirt inside, wore spag top instead. Man it was way cooler. That's it, tt's just how I will wear next time.

Wahahahahaha.

Damn skirts. Argh.

The day my heart went cold :S

Yu Hui says:
I went to see my unofficial transcript and tallied everything, it's in order!

Yu Huisays:
I fired the Registrar 3 emails, with one of evidence about the counting of modules.

Yu Hui says:
I will know officially if I am screwed or not tmr morning.

444th post

I've reached the 死死死 post. Hahahaha.

Oh man, I've reached the 444th post already :S And today's Thursday. Wahahahaha.

No link at all -_-

Arrived in school damn early today. Dunno why, I just happened to leave the house at7am when my class is supposedly at 8.30am -_-. Was in kopitiam having my second round of breakfast and saw my MA (Management Accounting) professor moping around in slacks and slippers. What a sight. Haha

Read papers about the new Mac-Air, thinnest laptop world has ever seen:

Tell me about thinnovation -_-

It's uber sexyyyyy~~~, but I still have qualms about bringing a 0.4cm thick lappie around. I happen to break things very easily. Hahahaha.

The Singapore Govt has once again revealed to the world how deep its pockets are by investing in $6.88 billion into Citibank. And it's almost a no risk investment unless well, Citibank goes under. Not very likely since it's too large to. But hey they were near bankruptcy in the early 1990s. Who knows. Muahahahah.

Gawd I'm evil -_-.

Saw the release of St. Regis Residences on today's Business Times. OMG! I so wanna live in one of the units there! The 1st and only residence offering the renowned St. Regis Butler Service in Singapore, other services such as in-residence dining, housekeeping, even childcare as well as full condominum facilities that has cigar rooms, private exercise and massage rooms! Located in the heart of town this most prestigious residence with concierge services offers 173 units with stunning sky villas and sky suites! Units sizes range from 1959 to 4069 sq.ft. Prices start from S$3500 per sq.ft. Local property tycoon expects prices to reach S$5500 per sq.ft.!

I shall make this part of my dream next time. Hiak Hiak Hiak.

I think I need to write 习字 soon. My handwriting went from bad to atrocious. It's like a pure straight curve of decline since I entered University.

And yesh, I can't draw straight lines -_-.

22 years old with ugly handwriting and can't draw a bleedy straight line. So much for 16 years of formal education -_-.

Ok, back to FI investments class. Prof loves to show his chest hair lah -_-.

Student: "Prof, for the assignment, are we supposed to do in groups?"
Professor: "Up to you."
Student: "How many people a group?"
Professor: "As big as you want :)"
**Roars of laughter*

I love my prof. Hahahaa.

Question to ponder for the day: "Why are people more comfortable with talking about sex than talking about shit?" - National Geographic's special on Beijing's public toilets.

Oh the shudder on China's public toilets. *chill down the spine*

I never knew

I never knew...SMU has Green Wall -_-

Hahahaha, if it wasn't for the Environmental Science class today, I wouldn't have known. Hahahaha.

It was actual award-winning landscape feature! Omg! I don't even know! -_-

Because of the construction of SMU campus, 90% of the greenery of Bras Basah Park was removed. The Green Wall was actually an attempt to put back 50% of the greenery that was removed. It also serves the purpose of making SMU's very concrete buildings look "softer".

I never knew!

Well, I learned something new today. Wahaha. Thank god I am learning this before I graduate -_-.

AND! I found Happy Tree Friends on Youtube! Omg! I love watching Happy Tree Friends!

Gawd I'm morbid. -_-

So here it is

7th January 2008.

Monday.

1st day of Semester 2 for Academic Year 2007/08.

It spells the first day of my last semester of university.

It stinks.

No I haven't come to terms with it yet.

And having a dream the previous night about how fast the next 15 weeks will fly, is not nice.

*wails*

Noooooooooooooooo......

Although SMU has changed so much that I am actually glad to be no longer part of it soon, I still feel sad I am going to end my 16 years of formal education.

I am going to enjoy this semester as much as I can :)

MIA

Missing in action for the past few days. Not because I am engrossed in NDS Lite (Haha), but my bleedy modem has decided it's time to retire before I continue to ravage it coming the brand new year -_-.

Oh c'mon honey we all know how well I have treated you *Elder sister's luffter at the back* Okay minus the fact that sometimes I switch it on for 72 hours straight -_-.

Writing this blog entry in the school library -_-. My holiday resolution was to not step into school until the term starts -_-. Broken. Bah. But what to do I need to check emails.

And OMG la, there are people studying in school. What's the world coming to?

2008 Resolution? Hmm, lemme think.

*long pause*

I will give it some thought. Hahahaha.

Actually, I have it written down and stuffed away under my bed lo. I don't like telling people my resolutions :x. Coz it's like telling people what you want to do before achieving it.

不是君子所为. Lol.

When my internet is up and going, I will reveal my 2007 resolutions and see how many have been achieved. Not many I think :S. Hahahaha

Was reading my cousin's blog, and the second point of her 31st december entry kinda hit me. It's gonna be a year soon.

Hope you are happier now. Really.
